How To Help

There are many ways to help us help these newcomers.
You can:

               1. Make a financial contribution;
               2. Volunteer your time and talents;
               3. Sponsor a minority student
               4. Make in-kind donations;
               5. Join us in our public education and advocacy efforts; and
               6. Tell your friends and colleagues about what we do.
               7. Joining SOMRAF you make it a stronger and effective organization.
               8. Becoming an active member of your local chapter you can participate in media,
                   education, political, legal and other activities.
               9. Registering to vote and encouraging others to vote.
              10.Help to bring other members into SOMRAF and helping to support SOMRAF as an
                   independent, self-sustaining national institution for Somali Americans, you take the
                   most effective steps to make the Somali-American voice part of the national political
                   conversation.
             11. Writing to Congress and expressing your views.
             12. Get involved in the civic and political life of your community, whether through school
                   boards, town councils, state legislatures or the federal government, you help make
                  Somali Minority Americans a force and have a voice to policy makers and in decision
                  making at all levels to send a clear message [racist has no chance].
            13. Write a "Letter to the Editor" to your local paper as well as to national news
                  organizations.

 SOMRAF enjoys the generous financial and material support provided by individuals, organizations, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

We need your support more to save a victimized community and indigenous minority people will be wiped out if an intervention is not made urgently, we need your help more than ever as our programs and services try to respond to the many challenges and needs facing the African newcomer community.
