SOMRAF civic Education and Human
rights aims to make a difference
in people's awareness, concern
and exercise of their
fundamental and human rights in
Somalia.
It is also working relentlessly
for the promotion and
realization of gender equality,
the rule of law, good
governance, and peace and
stability with the active
participation of target groups
and other stakeholders.
Its major programs areas are
minority, indigenous people,
women's rights, gender equality,
Harmful Traditional Practice
Reduction, and Reproductive
Health rights with emphasis on
HIV/AIDS; children's rights;
peace education and conflict
resolution; civic and voter
education; good governance;
civic and human rights education
in literacy and ABCE programs;
IDP'S and refugee rights; the
rights of persons with
disabilities (PWD); environment
education; and nutrition
education.
It approaches these programs via
community mobilization, training
and education; institutional
capacity building; networking
and partnership; and public
policy advocacy through
following:-
